The Peaceful Balaton Lake, Siofok

We decided to enjoy some peace, far from the city, noises and painful walking, so here we are – Siofok! Basically there is not much to do here, but it’s an amazing summer destination! By the way, there is a huge festival – Balaton Festival, which will be held in Siofok every year during summer. We wanted so much to join this festival, but our date doesn’t match. Sad!

So basically Balaton is a huge lake in Hungary. Locals like to enjoy sun and water here during summer. Although there is no proper sand and beaches, people still sun bath along the benches and some even floating on the lake. The good thing is, the water is quite clean and we can even swim with ducks and fishes; the bad thing is, the ‘lakesides’ are mostly owned by resorts and hotels, so eventually we smuggled in to the lake to swim. (Ops! Don’t tell anyone about it!)

There is a beach club, where people enjoy movies and events along the lakeside. We are lucky that the euro cup football match just happen to show when we were in Siofok, and it’s Hungary’s match! (Although they lost that last match…) We’d enjoyed the scream and shout of people supporting their teams and players.

Overall it’s a relaxing trip in Siofok. Just that.
