Flying High in the Sky

In respect of the well-known company slogan "Now everyone can fly", I decided to let my boy fly himself once. Well some might argue that gliding is never so close to the experience of flying an aeroplane, but technically or even literally gliding also consider flying a glide in the sky right haha. Safety is always my biggest concern, hence it took guts to click the 'purchase' button. I weren't ready to live my life without him lol, especially losing him on his birthday *touchwood*. After carefully reading reviews and asking around, I were pretty sure it will be a wonderful experience which worth the risk.
The day itself wasn't easy. Getting out of the bed already took quite some effort haha, let alone all those petty things that happened while getting ourselves ready. I know developed country's transportation system is never flawless, just that I have never thought breakdown incident would happen on such a big day. You did not get it wrong, the trains to Bicester North (my destination) is cancelled, such an unpleasant way to kick start the day. It seemed to me that I might need to go to Bicester North another day for the gliding session, luckily I managed to board another train and postpone my schedule some time later. *Phew*
You can never imagine how agitated I were, on one side worrying if we can reach there on time so I can somehow present him my surprise, on the oher side praying hard for good weather. Ganjiong to the max. The shopaholic birthday boy who faithfully believed in our Bicester Village shopping plan still keeping himself busy in deciding what to get hahaha. His anticipation of shopping somehow made me feel guilty lol.
After lots of highs and lows, we managed to reach the gliding club on time *god bless me*. I could hardly believe my eyes gazing upon the beautiful scenery. It was so relaxing! Thanks to the sparkling sunshine, it has made the huge field a lot more attractive, with all the gliders lying on the grass peacefully. So woah! Now that the birthday boy has found out the surprise, quickly let him read through the safety guides hahaha.
I saw his amazement through his eyes, and all the loves beyond words *shy* hehe. And after some briefing, he was ready to go! or maybe to fly :) He first tried the aerotow launching, which basically the glider is being pulled up by a plane, of course there was an instructor who sat in the glider with him. The plane pulled the glider up to 2000ft, and the glider was detached from the plane. That's when the solo dance starts *applause* hahaha. Apparently the professionals said the pilot will be able to find the thermal (according to google thermal is the rising columns of air - created when the suns heat the ground lol) to soar the skies. He spent a total of around half an hour gliding in the skies, soaring higher and higher up to 3500ft. Birthday boy says newbies get to control the glider, whether you want to go lower or higher, slide left or right... as long as it is under a steady condition.
The next and final thing he tried was the winch gliding, which now the glider is being pulled by a string. People often said winch gliding is much more exciting because of its steep climb and the acceleration, well my birthday boy prefers the first one wth. So the main point of winch gliding is not so much on enjoying the view from the sky, but to experience the fluttery during the speedy climb. I have only waited for about ten minutes before he came back again from the second glide. AND he was flying high! Literally, mentally and physically hahaha.
Everyone should really try it once, at least. It is quite common in the UK, and perhaps all around the world idk. By then, we will realize how huge the world is, how small humans are. Never let negativity pull yourself down, embrace yourself!
So I guess this was the best birthday gift from me throughout my whole life. Start worrying about his next birthday lol.
